General Settings ​

The settings page contains three main sections: General Settings, Friend Request Settings, and Message Settings.

General Settings ​

Interval for Auto Sync Friends List ​

If enabled, Friender runs syncing automatically within a specified timeframe. Requirements:

  • Computer must be on
  • Internet connection active
  • Logged into Facebook

Friends Inactive After X Days ​

Friends not reacting or commenting within the specified number of days will show as inactive (red dot in recent engagement column). Settings apply in real-time to the friends list.

Friend Request Settings ​

Important

The settings for who to not send friend requests to only apply to data that has been tracked by Friender.

Don't Send to Previous Friends ​

Skips lost or unfriended contacts when sending friend requests.

Don't Send to People Who Sent Me Requests I Rejected ​

Avoids re-requesting from people who sent you requests that you declined.

Don't Send to People Who Rejected My Requests ​

Skips people who rejected your previous requests.

Important

Don't manually delete pending requests — use Friender to manage them.

Avoid Sending to Restricted Profiles ​

If Facebook blocks sending to a profile ("you don't know this person" message), Friender won't retry. This does not apply to friend requests blocked by Facebook rate limits — those can be retried once unblocked. This helps avoid account blocks.

Automated Re-friending ​

When toggled on, Friender sends friend requests to the same person multiple times, giving new notifications. Key details:

  • Only works on requests sent when enabled (not retroactive)
  • Overrides the "delete pending requests automatically" setting
  • Auto cancel pending after X days — Specifies wait time before canceling and resending
  • Retry up to X attempts — Number of times to cancel and resend (up to 3 retries = 4 total requests including initial)
  • Keywords — If enabled, refriend only people matching specified keywords (matched against keywords used when adding friends)

Delete All Pending Requests Now ​

Red button that deletes all pending Friender requests from both Friender UI and Facebook. Does NOT delete manually sent requests or requests with automated re-friending enabled.

Delete Pending Requests Automatically ​

Deletes pending Friender requests after a specified number of days from both Friender and Facebook.

Note

Automated re-friending overrides the auto-delete setting.

Message Settings ​

How Messages Work

These messages go out automatically when turned on as part of the syncing process (at the very last step). If you want messages to go out daily and automatically, you should turn on the auto sync setting. You can either use a static quick message (with built-in spintext and merge fields) or set up a message group and select that.

Send Message When Someone Accepts My Friend Request ​

Sends selected message to people who accepted your Friender requests (now on friends list).

Send Message When Someone Rejects My Friend Request ​

Sends message to people who rejected your Friender requests.

WARNING

This is inferred by removal from pending outgoing list and not on friends list. Manual deletion of pending requests may cause false positives.

Send Message When Someone Sends Me a Friend Request ​

Sends message to incoming friend requests.

Send Message When I Reject an Incoming Request ​

Sends message to people whose requests you rejected.

Send Message When I Accept an Incoming Request ​

Sends message to people whose requests you accepted.
